Guide to Recovery

Mid-Day Prayer

We can set our watch or our phone with a recurring reminder every day at a given time (during lunch is best), to briefly pray. This will bolster us, and draw us away from the distractions of the world and back into closeness with Christ. One example mid-day prayer is:

Lord God, our Father in heaven, I pray that,
with Your divine protection,
we will ‎maintain purity & exercise temperance;
with Your wisdom,
we will master our passions and our pride,
rather than let them master us;
with Your guidance,
we will become the people we want to be
and You intend us to be;
with Your loving tenderness,
we will stay close to You;
and with Your strength,
we will defend the sanctity of our bodies,
the Holy Spirit’s temple.

I humbly beg, for Your [forgiveness,] healing, protection,
strength, and the gift of chastity.

This, I ask, through Jesus Christ — true God, and true man,
one in being with You and the Holy Spirit,
forever and ever.  Amen.
